2008/2009 - Challenges

Paint can Challenge:

For $8.00 you purchase (hopefully you've purchased, as supply is almost diminished)

a paint can which contains instructions, 1/2 m of fabric and three paint swatches. The Challenge requires you to make any item of your choice, any size but you must use at least half of the fabric and 2 of the 3 colors in the swatches. You can add as many fabrics as you like!

A fun, easy but very interesting Challenge - Contact:  Carole C

C.C. will have instructions and fabric requirements available. Pre-cutting is required prior to Jan. 28/09 meeting. I'm told there are umteen ways you can arrange the blocks &/or the colors!!!! This "class" will happen at the Annual Sleep-over - Jan. 28/29/2009

Tea Cozy

The Pincushion Project last year was so fun.....this year we can make any type of tea cozy..already there are those scheming for a display at next year's show!!!

Nov. 26th meeting:

Debbie Burwash will be doing a Demo on "jelly rolls, layer cakes & sweet sixteen's", the new craze in quilting fabric pkging.........she will bring quilt samples, the actual pkgs and books.


Annual Christmas Party

As usual there is only one meeting in Dec.....Dec. 10th and it is our annual Christmas Party.....As tradition holds there is a Potluck Dinner.......

One of our special Guests will be Sonya Davys from Australia. The following are happenings at the party......

(1) Pattern Swap: if you would like to participate please bring any like new quilt or craft pattern that you no longer require and want to pass on to someone else..... if there are a number wanting to participate we'll draw numbers otherwise, those that are interested can pick a pattern.

(2) Chinese Gift Exchange: the Hardisty Gals are organizing this....those wishing to participate please bring a gift valued from $15.-$20. The gift should be wrapped and does not necessarily have to be quilt related. Please do not put your name on your gift........those bringing a gift will take home a gift
